The California Renewable Fuels Partnership
(CalRFP) is a public/private partnership dedicated to
educating the general public about renewable fuels and advancing
policies to increase the production and use of ethanol and biodiesel
in the California marketplace.
Renewable Fuels Create Jobs
A single mid-size ethanol plant creates about 40 new full-time jobs
at the plant, and anywhere from 250-700 new full and part time jobs
economy-wide.
Renewable Fuels Reduce Dependence on Foreign
Oil
Aggressive renewable fuels policies could reduce foreign oil dependence
by 50-100 percent by 2025 while injecting billions of dollars into
rural economies every year.
Renewable Fuels Reduce CO2 Emissions
The use of renewable fuels already reduces CO2 emissions from cars
and trucks. Some experts believe that we could cut transportation-related
CO2 emissions by 80 percent with biofuels alone.
California Renewable Fuels Partnership is an affiliate of the New
Fuels Alliance, and works in partnership with the Renewable
Energy Action Project (REAP). |
